лікарів. Відтворено цілісну картину наукових інтересів вченого через
дослідження його наукових публікацій, відкриттів, запропонованих методик

The thesis is devoted to complex research of scientific, inventive and
educational activities of Ivan Gorbachevskyi (1854 - 1942) - one of the greatest
scientists and biochemists of late 19th - early 20th century, who was the pride of
the Ukrainian people and a man, who glorified the Czech people. For the first time
the integral system analysis of scientific and inventive activities of the scientist was
held on the basis of available sources and historiography. He was the author of over
60 scientific publications and over 100 scientific developments in the field of
sanitation, and the author of scientific discoveries.
A review of the literature on the research topic and historiographical analysis
indicate that in scientific literature is absent a comprehensive historical research,
which would be systematized and thoroughly analyzed the scientific legacy of Ivan
Gorbachevskyi, in the context of the historical development of natural and medical
sciences in the second half of 19th – first half 20th centuries. Existing studies
