scientific-research institutes on the territory of the Ukrainian SSR with offices and the
Central Agricultural Library included in the structure of the All-Ukrainian Academy of
Agricultural Sciences. The composition of the Academy’s Presidium was President –
academician – soil scientist O.N. Sokolovsky, First Vice-President – Professor
A.M. Slipansky, Vice-Presidents – T.G. Bilash and P.I. Popov,
members –
M.E. Levenshtam, I.M. Bodnar, M.T. Varfolomyeyev, K.K. Vitort, scientific secretary
– Ya.S. Kharchenko.
The formation of a unified organizational, scientific and methodological center of
agricultural science in the Ukrainian SSR occurred in a declared party organs socialist
reconstruction of agricultural production. A component of this process was the mass
starvation in 1932–1933, which led to multimillion human losses in the countryside of
the Ukrainian SSR. The authorities concealed the crime and appointed «perpetrators».
In
1933, the
sharp criticism has affected the Academy’s activity. All management, besides
|President O.N. Sokolovsky, dismissed from office. F.P. Teslenko, Yu.S. Yefroyimskyy,
M.T. Varfolomeyev have become new Vice-Presidents.
The investigation deals with justification that the modeling of the system of
scientific support of agricultural production of the Ukrainian SSR carried out during the
whole period of the functioning of the All-Ukrainian Academy of Agricultural Sciences.
The sectors of organizational-coordinating and methodological character began their
work in the early years of the Academy’s functioning.
This was the relevance at the
initial stage of the network of scientific-research institutes of the All-Ukrainian
Academy of Agricultural Sciences. Further Academy created coordinating components
of the main appointed problems of the agricultural sector.
In 1934 somehow the
structure optimized, or rather singled out key areas of scientific-research work for the
needs of socialist agricultural production.
Attention is primarily given to the main achievements of the All-Ukrainian
Academy of Agricultural Sciences. These include the complex problem-thematic plan
of development of agricultural science in Ukraine in 1932 that became the first in the
history of the domestic agricultural research case. For the current year, the Academy
scheduled out 24 national economic tasks of 100 complex scientific-research problems,
