Summary

The article contains a historiographic review and analysis of sources stating the significant scientific potential of Academic O.K. Kedrov-Zikhman in the development of the theory of liming acidic soils and it’s implementation in practice. The relevance of the work is to draw attention to one of the first scientists in the USSR who established that the negative properties of acidic sod-podzolic soils can be eliminated by injection calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium and ammonium into the absorbing complex, since they are of great importance in the liming of acidic soils for many crops. The selected source database on this issue indicates the lack of a comprehensive historical study of the activities of Academic O.K. Kedrov-Zikhman, in which all aspects of the study of this issue would be considered in a single territorial and chronological context. There are no special historiographical works on this topic. It is precisely this that determined the choice of the topic and the main research aspects of the article.
