Summary

This year the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine marks the 100 anniversary of forming. Long-term historical researches of the Institute of the History of Agrarian Science, Education and Techniques of the National Scientific Agricultural Library of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine have shown that the countdown of its activity started on 1 November 1918, when it was founded Academic Committee. It changed his legal name and subordination several times. At least it became the Agricultural Scientific Committee of Ukraine – a powerful coordinating center of agrarian science and research case.

The study is about a little-known page in the history of agrarian science during the Ukrainian Revolution: the transfer of scientific research agricultural institutions in Kiev and the Kiev region to the Agricultural Scientific Committee of Ukraine.

The source of the research was the recently discovered materials in the State Archive of the Kyiv region, the Central State Archives of the Higher Authorities and the Administration of Ukraine, the Institute of Manuscripts of the Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine and information editions – «Bulletin of the Agricultural Scientific Committee of Ukraine» (1921) and «Journal of Agricultural Science».

For the systematic and complete disclosure of the research subject, the author carried out the general scientific principles of historicism, objectivity and continuity, comprehensive methods of source-analysis, analysis and synthesis, classification, as well as problem-chronological, comparative-historical, retrospective and periodization methods.

The researcher indicated the prerequisites and reasons for the appearance of this question about the transfer of scientific research agricultural institutions in Kiev and the Kiev region to the Agricultural Scientific Committee of Ukraine. In addition, she reproduced the course of events. The author has revealed the relations between the Committee and Kiev Provincial Land Office, the Department for Liquidation of Religious Institutions, the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences. She paid attention to the determination the achievements of the Agricultural Scientific Committee of Ukraine on the revival of the sugar industry.
