Summary

In accordance with the historical research carried out on the basis of comprehension and generalization of literary and archival sources, the necessity of studying the experience of predecessors in the formation of research activities in agrarian science, especially those that led to the creation of modern scientific activity, is described. In the article, too, an attempt was made to recreate some aspects of the life and research activity of O.M. Zasukhin is a scientist and one of the founders of agricultural research on sandy soils of Polissya. A brief description of the scientific and organizational activities of O.M. Zasukhin on positions occupied in research institutions. The emergence of extensive scientific research at the Radomyshl Agricultural Station, which is still functioning in the village. Fedorivka of Malinsky district of Zhytomyr region and bear the name of its founder – Polissya agricultural research station of the name О.M. Zasukhin.
