Summary

The phases of the formation of mathematical modeling direction in power engineering in Ukraine are investigated. It was found out that the initial studies began in research institutions in the late 1940s and early 1950s, but they received consistency at the Institute of Electrodynamics of the NAS of Ukraine under the guidance of Academician H.Ye. Pukhov. Actually, on his initiative, the scientific theme on electronic modeling of power assets and systems became a composite of research scientific work of the Institute of Electrodynamics. The in-depth study of the archive documents of the Institute of Modeling Problems in Power Engineering named after. G.E. Pukhov of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the room-museum of H.Ye.Pukhov, the archive of the National University «Lviv Polytechnic», the Institute of Archival Studies of the National Library of Ukraine named after V.I. Vernadskyi of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine made it possible to reveal that the scientist had created a scientific school of mathematical modeling, which occupied the leading position in the field of methods and tools of electronic and mathematical modeling in power engineering. It has been proved that the innovative scientific work of academician H.Ye. Pukhov and his scientific school are definitely important achievement in the history of Ukrainian science and technology of the second half of the twentieth century.
